Making money in pets
1) It isn't a lot of cash, but try and hit Tagged enough to get several of the 2000 bonus money each day. I typically earn 8K a day from this. Over time it adds up. I've been active for at least 60 days, and 60 * 8000 = 480,000. That has helped me with pet trading.
2) Earn the $500 bonus for buying a pet the first time. I still do this on occasion. It usually is a useless bit of time such as heading out in 10 minutes. There are two ways to do this.
2A) Leave the keyword field empty, and search between 500 and 500. This will bring up a list of pets. Check out the top pets. It normally is between 500 and 605. If the value is more, you may have found a hot pet to buy.
2B) Put something in the keyword field, and search between 500 and 500. This will bring up a list of pets. Almost all of them will be worth $500. The advantage of this search is almost zero competition. The disadvantage is you are less likely to find a hot pet.
Either way you do this, make sure that you see the 1000 bonus show up. Sometimes a pet is bought between the list being created, and when you click on it. I've bought a 550 pet by mistake more then once.
3) Buying team members is the most effective way to put cash into the team. Each time a pet is bought the owner gets 5% of the value, and the pet gets 5% of the value. Buying a team member gets both halves of the transaction.
4) As a general rule don't pay for then 1 million for a non-team member. This seems to be the cutoff zone for no activity. I've broken the rule a few times, and those pets got stuck.
5) Pets trading is about trading attractive people. Sexy, skimpily dressed women sell the best. Well built men will sell, but not as fast. No matter how pretty that flower is, it won't sell well.
6) Watch for potential duds. If the very attractive women picture shows as a male in the profile, it won't sell as well. If they have no pets, they won't sell as well. If they were inactive, they won't see as well.
7) The scammers love to use extremely attractive women. If the picture seems unreal, then check the profile. If the profile is almost empty, and showed up in the last couple of days you may get burned. Let somebody else risk getting a deleted pet. Tagged has gotten much more aggressive in deleting scammer accounts.
Helping to sell your pets - keep your collection clean.
While price is the biggest issue to sell a pet, the appearance of your collection will have an effect on your chance to sell your pets. The following will cause people to stop looking at your collection:
1) If you have pets named deleted. This pets are worth nothing. These pets should be set free.
2) Pets without a photo won't sell. Sometimes a photo is temporarily gone. However, if you pet has no photo for more then a day set them free.
3) If you bought pets for the first time bonus most of them have no value after that. Keeping a bunch of $550 pets with pictures of the sky, a rock, etc will stay stuck forever.
How to make profit for the team - non-member pets.
Swapping non-member pets on the surface seems good for the team. The reality is it not. We get 5% of the price increase, and the pet gets 5%.
I have a $1,000 pet and the team trades back on forth to $100,000. The pet got $44,500 and we got $44,500. The team investment went from $1,000 to $100,000. We have a tied up $100,000 to make $44,500. It is when a non-member buys the pet is when we win. We get enough of these, and we have more cash to bump up the team.
That is the ultimate goal of trading non-member pets - get the team more cash to bump up members.
Let your weak pets go.
The following are some cases to not buy back no matter what you think they are worth.
1) They are pet #50 of 50 on your list. If they got that buried, then there isn't a lot of interest.
2) It has been several days since they sold to a non-team member. Even if you only get a token amount of money you should still let them go. If people aren't interested, you are cluttering your collection with boring pets.
3) The same non-team member is the only one buying back occasionally. If the audience is that limited, then let them go. This is a tougher one to judge exactly when to do so.
4) They changed there profile picture, and the new one isn't as interesting.
5) One million seems to be a magical cut off point. If the pet hasn't sold in 24 hours, and is close to 1M let the next buyer have them.
